Homemade white wines
From the vineyard in South Tyrol into your glass
Enjoy home advantage with wines from Peter Wachtler, husband of hostess, Margit Verginer, and winemaker at the Taschlerhof in Brixen. Native to the Eisack Valley, he has been cultivating the vineyards around his home farm, south of Brixen, since the early 1990s. With success: numerous awards from renowned wine guides, including the coveted 3 glasses of Gambero Rosso, have rewarded his intensive work on the steep vineyards.
Climatic conditions are particularly favourable in the airy valley basin of Brixen at 530m above sea level. The south-east orientation of the hillsides provides intensive sunshine and the lean slate soil provides a distinctive mineral flavour. Peter Wachtler has earned much praise in the world of wine with his four Eisack Valley white wines, Sylvaner, Kerner, Riesling, and Gewürztraminer, distinguished through their character, longevity, and fruity bouquet.
A genuine rarity from Eisack Valley
As long as stocks last, the Eisack Valley wines can be found on the wine list at the Gnollhof. The fruity aromas of the wine unfold their seductive effect at an altitude of 1,160 metres above sea level, protected by a sunny terrace with a view of the meadows and the forest. If you want to get a personal impression of our dedicated winemaker and the origin of his wines, you can do so by visiting the Taschlerhof.
Peter Wachtler invites you to take a look behind the scenes of his family business during a tour of the vineyard and cellar, an instructive and enjoyable experience that ends with a tasting of his excellent wines.
